Equipment: 2 basketball goals, 2 basketballs, 2 bowling pins Divide class in half. One team stands shoulder to shoulder on the sideline. The other teams stands shoulder to shoulder on the same sideline, but on the other half of the basketball court. A bowling pin is place on the opposite sideline for each team, making sure both pins are the same distance from the "bowler." The pins may be placed closer to the teams depending on age of the students. The first person on each team has a basketball. The object of the game is for the student to roll the basketball and knock the bowling pin down. Which ever player knocks the pin down first then moves immediately to the basketball goal taking the basketball with him/her. The player shoots baskets (from a pre-determined spot) while the other player takes his/her basketball back to his/her own team and passes it to each member of the team. When the "passers" are finished, the "shooter" must stop. Count how many points the shooter made. Continue the game until everyone has had a turn "bowling." If you have enough goals, you may split the class into 4 teams, giving each student more turns. Note: If the bowler does not knock the pin down on the first try,
he/she must retrieve the ball and roll it at the pin from where it was
retrieved. The player does not have to return to the sideline. | ||||||||||
