Sports

Playing Area: A five foot throwing square and a six foot target square with 15-25 feet in between.

Equipment: 2 throwing bats (rolled newspaper with a dowel rod in the center and entire roll wrapped with tape). 5 pegs (Pringle cans work well).

The Game: The object of the game is to knock all 5 pegs out of the six foot square in two tries. The bat is gripped as if you were shaking hands. A side arm throw is used in imparting a circular rotation to the bat. The bat must rotate 360 degrees before contacting the pegs. Each batter gets 2 tries. A game consists of 3-5 sets of pegs and a match is three games.

Scoring: 1 point is scored for each peg knocked outside the square. A peg that is touching a line is not counted as being out. The thrower gets two tries, as in picking up a spare in bowling. The person winning 2 of 3 games wins the match.

Note: The pegs may be set up in ANY formation - laying on their sides, putting them together to make shapes, standing them up, standing some up while others are lying down, etc. Use your imagination.
