Grade Level - 6-9 Equipment - various Divide the class into groups of 3 or 4. Provide 7-10 different pieces of equipment for the groups to choose from. They will also need pencil and paper. Each group is to invent a game that is age appropriate (if they want to invent a game for younger children, that's fine). It must also be safe. The games must be original. Each group writes down the: 1. Name of the game Each group will present their game to the class. The class decides which game they would like to play during the next class. NOTE: Make sure you check the games closely. Question the students on rules, safety measures, and verify that it is not a game that already exists. This activity gives students experience in deciding what is age
appropriate, safety factors, group presentations and all the things
involved in setting up for a Physical Education class. My kids came up
with some great games and had a lot of fun with this activity. | ||||||||||
